THE best of Bradford’s businesses are set to be celebrated at the annual Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Awards.

Brought to you by the Telegraph & Argus and LOCALiQ, along with our partners the Bradford BID and The Broadway, the awards will celebrate success and achievement in the sector.

A spokesperson for the awards said: “These awards aim to celebrate success and recognise achievement in this special sector.

“The awards are unique in that they take place in the middle of the shopping mall in The Broadway, under the Christmas lights which creates a backdrop like no other.”

Steve Lowe, Sales Director at Newsquest and LOCALiQ, who will welcome businesses and finalists to the 2023 award evening said: “Launched in 2019, these awards are unique in that they recognise a specific sectors within the district and are held in the unusual setting of a shopping mall.

“On Sunday, November 12, we will transform the Broadway mall from a shopping centre to an events space along with stage, lights, 25 tables and seats for more than 250 guests who will dine under the Christmas lights and enjoy a night of fun filled entertainment, great food served by MY Lahore and ten awards.

“Our host for the evening is David Nowakowski, who is the also co-host of daytime TV show Loving Living Local, a show on the FOX21 channel in Colorado, every weekday between 9am and 10am.

“The live lifestyle show is similar to ITV’s This Morning in the UK with features on subjects including food.“

Mr Nowakowski, 36, also known by his nickname Nova said: “It’s such a privilege to be back in my hometown of Bradford hosting this prestigious event at the Broadway.

“Bringing so many successful businesses under one roof to celebrate their achievements really is a proud evening to be part of and worth the 3,000 miles trip from Colorado.

“Bradford really is a city of a entrepreneurial culture who are standing out from the rest!
I cant wait to celebrate this in the city at the awards with the people.”

“This year we have received the greatest number of entries since we launched the programme.

“Within this supplement we will showcase those that have made it through the judging process and are through to the shortlist and will be attending the awards on Sunday.

“I wish them all good luck. Putting on an event that is in such a unique setting takes a huge amount of planning and logistical foresight and without the fantastic team at the Broadway, the T&A events team and our suppliers being so accommodating these awards would not take place, so thank you in advance to everyone who has been involved.

“Finally thank you to the sponsors, with the B1D and The Broadway headlining, with support from Bradford Council and then all the category sponsors who enable us to put on these awards.

“Our team are ready to capture the night and we will publish the winners on the T&A website and in the T&A in print, so if you can’t be with us, watch out for the winners to be announced.

“Good luck to everyone who is shortlisted!”
