Buses were forced to divert during rush hour tonight following an incident near Bradford Royal Infirmary.

The incident took place on Smith Lane around 6pm on Monday (November 6).

West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service responded to the call.

Heavy traffic was reported throughout the surrounding area during rush hour - including Duckworth Lane, Toller Lane, and part of Lilycroft Road.

Diversions are also in place for First's 620 and 680 bus services.

The services are currently diverting via Toller Lane, Haworth Road, and Heights Lane, in both directions.

One eye witness reported seeing a number of buses along the route as well as emergency service vehicles.

"It looks like there's been a big accident right near BRI," she said.

"Loads of buses everywhere."
