POLICE caught a driver going at nearly 70mph through Keighley last night.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team joined forces with Keighley cops to tackle speeding around the town centre, where there is a 30mph limit.
Numerous drivers were reported for offences, according to officers.
They shared pictures of a couple of speed readings they recorded - one was 68mph, another was 62mph.
Others on the same stretch ranged from 41mph to 59mph.
Speeding is a leading cause of car crashes.
Last year, 66 people died and more than 5,000 people were injured in collisions on West Yorkshire's roads.
Earlier this week, the Telegraph & Argus reported on the Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate all road deaths and serious injuries in the region by 2040.
