PLANS for a hydrogen fuelling station to be included in the redevelopment of a Bradford roadside site have been approved.
An application to turn the former Stanley Cars showroom on Canal Road into a filling station were approved by Bradford Council last year.
The initial plans would see the vacant buildings on the site demolished and replaced with both petrol and EV refuelling bays.
Last month applicants Valli Forecourts applied to alter these plans – adding hydrogen refuelling bays to the site.
It would allow heavy goods vehicles powered by the emerging fuel source to re-fill on one of the main routes through the District.
The plans have now been approved, with planning officers saying: “The proposal is considered to be an appropriate form of development for this prominent site on one of the main thoroughfares in and out of the City.
“It would also represent a visual improvement not harmful to highway safety.”
