It’s the most wonderful time of the year (almost) in Bradford and what better way to kick off the festive season than with a traditional Christmas market.

As we are now only days away from November, which means Christmas markets will begin across the many towns and villages across Bradford.

Providing Santa appearances, local food and drink delights and thoughtful handmade crafts which could be someone’s perfect gift this year, there is bound to be something for everyone at one of the many events.

Let’s take a look at some of the Christmas markets taking place across the Bradford district for 2023.

Christmas Market at Odsal Stadium

Location: Rooley Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD6 1BS

Date and time: November 25 and 26, 10am until 4pm

Visitors can expect “a weekend of festive fun” with various stalls and food and drink stations located behind the Sekhon Southbank Stand.

There will also be a Santa’s grotto, crafts, entertainment and funfair rides.

Entry is free.

Winter Makers Market in Thornton

Location: South Square Centre, Thornton, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD13 3LD

Date and time: November 25 and 26, 10.30am until 5pm

On the Visit Bradford website, it says: “Looking for a unique gift or treating yourself? Then look no further and come to South Square’s Winter Makers Market.

“We have a variety from jewellery, ceramics to children’s’ book author signing! You will definitely find something special to take away from the market. Also pop into our Artist Open Studios to buy crafts directly from the artist’s studio!”

There are also a few stall spaces left for those who want to sell their arts and crafts.

Sellers can book one or two days and the fees are: £25 for one day / £35 for two days – get in touch with the market to find out more.

Victorian Christmas Market at Bradford Industrial Museum

Location: Moorside Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD2 3HP

Date and time: November 26 and 27, 10am until 4pm

There will be a Victorian-style Christmas market at Bradford Industrial Museum with both inside and outside stalls so you can make the most of your festive shopping.

You can even grab a bag of roasted chestnuts among the many food vendors.

The museum adds: “Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Scrooge and listen to his miserly tales, hear updates from the town crier, see the spectacular Victorian chimney sweep stilt walkers, and say hello to the beautiful alpacas. 

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

“The season wouldn't be complete without the festive sounds of a brass band and a visit to see the great man himself.

“Tickets to meet Santa can be purchased in advance from Bradford Industrial Museum reception for £6 per child, including a lovely gift.”

Adult tickets cost £2 per person and children can enter free.

Christmas Makers Fair 2023

Location: Ilkley Manor House, Castle Yard, Ilkley, West Yorkshire, LS29 9DT

Date and time: December 2 and 3, 10am until 5pm

“Ilkley Manor House can help get Christmas all wrapped-up. Find unique, perfect gifts created by talented artists and makers, all whilst inspiring that festive feeling.”

There is a £1 admission fee.

Christmas Market in Keighley

Location: East Riddlesden Hall, Bradford Road, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD20 5EL

Date and time: December 2 and 3, 11am until 3pm

“Join us in the Airedale Barn for a festive market, including Christmas gifts, homeware and much more.

“The bar will be open and serving mulled wine and hot chocolates, with Christmas music playing it's sure to give you that festive feel!”

Real Food Ilkley Christmas Market

Location: The Grove, Ilkley, LS29 8HB

Date and time: December 17, 10am until 3pm

“A special Christmas Real Food Ilkley Market packed with locally produced fine food and drink in the heart of Ilkley,

“Real Food Ilkley offers produce from fresh bread, cakes and gluten free bakes to curry sauces, cheeses, condiments and crepes. Stalls also include organic meat and veg, brownies, truffles and herbs from local producers and independent retailers.”
