A MAN has been sentenced to community service for carrying a machete-type knife in a Bradford district town.
Maine McPherson, 24, of Owlet Grange, Shipley, pleaded guilty to possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on August 18 this year.
He was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The 24-year-old was caught with a machete-type knife in South Street, Keighley on July 15 this year.
He received a community order as punishment.
This includes up to 25 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days and 40 hours of unpaid work, to be completed in the next year.
McPherson was also ordered to pay £85 in costs.
