A BRADFORD man faces a bill of nearly £700 after failing to pay a rail fare on a train to Bradford Forster Square.
Mohammed Shafiq, 57, of Sandy Beck, Allerton, was travelling between London Kings Cross and Bradford Forster Square on April 7, 2022, without a valid ticket.
The court record states: “The defendant, not being in a designated compulsory ticket area, entered a train for the purpose of travelling without having with you a valid ticket entitling you to travel.”
At Doncaster Justice Centre North, a collection order was issued and he was fined £220, asked to pay compensation of £239, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and costs of £150.
In total he must pay £697, before November 2, 2023.
