HERE’S a look inside a Greggs store which is back open after a complete revamp following a fire ten months ago.

The bakery chain’s store in Heckmondwike was closed temporarily after the fire in December.

Then in March the firm applied to Kirklees Council to make some major changes at the store, including a replacement shop front and new flat roof.

Now the store is back open to customers with a fresh look, serving up its popular sausage rolls and steak bakes once again.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The firm said new jobs were being created – although it is not known how many at this stage.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “We're excited to be welcoming customers back to our new and improved shop on Market Street in Heckmondwike.

“The shop has reopened with a fresh new look and additional indoor seating.

"Returning to usual service, it will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including the on-the-go-retailer’s popular sausage roll, steak bake, and delicious vegan alternatives.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

“Further jobs have also been created and will be posted on the ‘Greggs Family’ website.”

At the time of the fire, the Telegraph & Argus reported that fire crews were called to Market Street shortly after 8pm on December 13.

The fire was said to have taken hold of the ground and first floor of a shop building.
