Drivers heading onto the M62 Eastbound may face slow traffic after a three-vehicle crash earlier this morning.

Highways England reported a three-vehicle collision from J24 A629 (Ainley Top) to J25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse).

One lane was temporarily closed - creating delays of around 20 minutes.

All lanes have since reopened with normal traffic conditions expected to return soon.

In the latest update, around 8am, Highways England said there is still a 20 minute delay with drivers travelling at sn average speed of 40mph.

It follows a previous incident which closed one lane on the entry slip road.

The traffic app reported: "One lane closed and slow traffic due to accident, three cars involved on M62 Eastbound from J24 A629 (Ainley Top) to J25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse).

"This is a separate incident to the earlier accident which closed one lane on the entry slip road."

The traffic update comes ahead of Storm Agnes - the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the Bradford district.

Driving safely in the rain

It is recommended not to drive in heavy rain if possible but if you have to then there are a few things to keep in mind.

Drive at a slower pace than usual, only use main roads if you can and utilise your dipped headlights.

Also, keep a bigger gap than usual between vehicles to give yourself a chance to slow down if need be.

Some people might remember this phrase from their driving lesson days, reminding people of how long to count for distances between vehicles: 'Only a fool breaks the two second rule'.
