A BRADFORD man who made off without paying for fuel at three different petrol stations must pay the courts more than £350.

Muhammed Afsan, 41, of Lynfield Drive, Bradford, was caught at Morrison’s petrol stations in Halifax and Leeds, as well as an Esso garage in Leeds, putting fuel in his vehicle and not paying – three times within a fortnight in July and August this year.

The amount of fuel he took amounted to £158.07, and he pleaded guilty to all three offences at a Leeds Magistrates’ Court hearing on September 22.

Afsan was ordered to pay compensation amounting to the cost of the fuel he took, as well as a fine of £120 and costs of £85.

Court documents show magistrates took into account his guilty pleas when sentencing.
