Residents in part of Bradford have raised £3,000 to support people going through bereavement.

The family fun day at Hepworth and Idle Cricket Ground brought people together for a charity rounders match, stalls and games.

For every duck hooked and face painted, money was being raised for Bradford Bereavement Support and Idle Red Kites.

Since 1984, the charity’s staff and volunteers have offered an accessible bereavement service to anyone living in the district.

The event was supported by a number of local businesses and the cricket club.

A whopping £2,797.56 was raised before Coversure Bradford topped up the pot, making the grand total £3,000.

The funds will be equally split between Bradford Bereavement Support and Idle Red Kites, a women’s rounders team in the West Yorkshire Rounders League.

The sports team will be able to invest in new equipment, training pitches, bats, balls and match balls.
