A GROUP of exceptional employers essential to the success of Bradford College Ambition [HUB] were invited to a special “thank you” breakfast event.

Business partners from across sectors were presented with a framed certificate to mark the start of the new academic year and in recognition of their dedication to the skills development for Ambition [HUB] students.

Each course within this area has an industry-related sponsor, including exa networks, Willmott Dixon, G&H Group of Companies, Better Start Bradford, The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford Bulls, Royal Shakespeare Company, and Dance United.

Invited guests from the partner institutions listened to tutors talk about what Ambition [HUB] courses offer and how partners can bring real-life experience to the programmes. Attendees were reminded of the enormous impact of their support over the last 12 months.

Exclusively available at Bradford College, Ambition [HUB] offers a range of Level 3 courses (equivalent to A Levels) delivered in radically new way of studying a subject in a way that gives students a better careers edge.

Focusing on personal skills such as self-awareness and confidence, the programme provides students with skills to help students enter the world of work ready.

Alongside a Level 3 qualification, students participate in enrichment activities, progression coaching, and an international project working with ‘Everything is Possible’ (when students have the opportunity to take part in an international visit).

Learners also complete 160 hours of relevant work experience each year and collaborate with students from other disciplines within the Careers Edge programme. Industry mentors and live briefs allow students to problem-solve and work as a team.

THE first Bradford College further education open evening of this academic year is set to take place on Tuesday, October 17 at the Great Horton Road Campus from 5-7pm.

Specifically aimed at students interested in studying Level 3 qualifications - from BTECs to Apprenticeships, T Levels, and the Ambition [HUB] - the open night will help applicants and their parents and guardians find out more about exciting full and part-time courses starting in 2024.

NEXT week kicks off Sustainable Fashion Week - a community-led project led by the Stitch Society - pushing for change in fashion. The week aims to empower people with skills and resources to drive a positive shift in our relationship with clothes.

Events will take place across the UK, online, and internationally, which embrace a fair fashion future and help fight climate change. These activities include various workshops and an exhibition hosted at Bradford School of Art.

From September 19 to October 1, student and staff projects that emphasise reducing, reusing, and recycling in fashion and textiles will be exhibited at the Bradford College Dye House Gallery.

The College will also lead fascinating workshops and talks on September 30 and October 1 on passementerie weaving, natural dyeing techniques and pattern-cutting experimentation.
