A WOMAN had to be cut free from a car involved in a crash on a Bradford roundabout.

Emergency services, including the police, fire service and ambulance service, were scrambled to the scene in Wibsey early this afternoon.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to a roundabout on St Enoch’s Road, Bradford at about 1pm today to a report of a collision between two cars. 

"A woman in one of the cars had to be freed from the vehicle by firefighters and was taken to hospital for treatment.  She was described as being in a stable condition.

"A road closure was put in place at the location as a result of the incident."

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call at 12.53pm today reporting a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on St Enoch's Road close to the Dog and Gun pub.

"We dispatched an ambulance to the scene and transported one female patient to Bradford Royal Infirmary."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call from our colleagues at Yorkshire Ambulance Service at 1:10pm requesting our support in responding to a road traffic collision on St Enoch’s Road in Bradford.

"Two crews from Bradford Fire Station were on the scene in under ten minutes and helped to extricate a person from one of the vehicles involved. We left the scene at 2.09pm."

A Wibsey business owner spoke about the crash today.

"It was a severe impact," said Ian Rivers, who runs the business Horton Motor Factors, near the roundabout. "The police, fire service and ambulance service were all at the scene. A woman had to be cut out of a car."

The West Yorkshire Police has been contacted for a comment.
