Police have dropped a charge against a 52-year-old man following an incident that closed a street for several hours.
In June, the Telegraph & Argus reported Mohammed Hadji, of Brighouse Road, Queensbury, had been charged with a Section 4 public order offence.
It followed a huge emergency services response that lasted more than six hours on Ridgeway, off Brighouse Road.
Police, armed police, firefighters, and paramedics were all in attendance.
A huge cordon was put in place while the scene was brought under control.
Hadji entered a not guilty plea during his appearance at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 19.
But the case against him has been discontinued.
The Crown Prosecution Service said the legal tests for the offence were not met “after a thorough review of the evidence provided”.
A CPS spokesperson said: “The charging decision in this case was made by West Yorkshire Police. The CPS has a duty to review all cases where the police have made a charge.
“ After a thorough review of the evidence provided to the CPS by West Yorkshire Police, we concluded that our legal tests for the offence charged by the police was not met, and the case was discontinued."
