Bradford Bulls are hosting a special fixture in memory of Rycroft Alport Foster prior to the men's Betfred Championship game against York on Sunday, as BARA (British Asian Rugby Association) take on a select 'Rycroft 17'.

Rycroft, whose father Andrew was born in Bradford and is a lifelong Bulls fan, was just 16 months old when he tragically passed away in June from a rare genetic condition called Shwachman Diamond Syndrome (SDS).

Bulls’ game against Barrow in July was dedicated to Rycroft, with a bucket collection raising much needed funds for Great Ormond Street, Colchester Hospital Children's Ward and SDS UK.

And from 1pm on Sunday, two 30 minutes halves will take place to remember Rycroft.

Fans can still book to come to Bulls’ clash with York at Odsal on Sunday, with that ticket also gaining them access to the memorial fixture for Rycroft.

And non-executive director Joe Pitts, who is nearly 70, will be pulling on his boots to play one more time at Odsal, despite retiring 37 years ago.

Andrew admits he is grateful for the gesture from Pitts, saying: "We are so grateful to Joe for pulling on his boots one last time in memory of Rycroft, and we know it would mean a lot to him to break the £500 target he has set for himself.

"Any contribution big or small is very gratefully received and will help very ill children like Rycroft was get home to their families, happy and healthy."

Sunday’s clash is Bulls’ last home game of the regular season, with away trips to London Broncos and Sheffield Eagles to come.

The academy finish their season on Saturday at Warrington Wolves, while Bulls’ Women visit Castleford on Sunday.

That clash with the Tigers marks the end of their Betfred Women’s Super League 2 campaign, but they do have a play-off semi-final to come.
