POLICE are appealing for information after a serious collision resulted in the death of a teenager.

Officers in North Yorkshire are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision that took place on August 18 on the A65, south of Gargrave.

The vehicles involved were a blue Kia Rio, an orange Ford Ranger and a Yamaha bike. 

In a statement North Yorkshire Police, said: "We are very sorry to announce that the motorcyclist who was injured in a serious road traffic collision on the A65 at Gargrave on Friday 18 August, an 18-year-old man from the local area, has died.

"Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team continue to carry out their enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the collision and are reappealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident or captured dash cam footage to contact them.

"The collision took place at 8.10am on Friday 18 August on the A65 south of Gargrave and involved the drivers of a blue Kia Rio and an orange Ford Ranger and the motorcyclist, who was riding a white Yamaha motorcycle with a black seat and fairings.

"The drivers of the other two vehicles were uninjured and are assisting police with their enquiries.

"No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
