THOUSANDS of music lovers and festivalgoers flocked to Bingley for the three-day festival, with some of the biggest names in music taking the stage.

Happy Mondays and The Boo Radleys kicked off the festival, which runs until Sunday (August 6) at the Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club. 

The first day of the family-feel Bingley Festival was a success with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds performing an epic 100 minute set.

An official spokesperson from the festival, said:"Wow, what a day two! Noel and his High Flying Birds were incredible and it was so amazing to see everyone singing along to his solo songs and the Oasis back catalogue.

"Jake Bugg, Kate Nash, geordie boys Andrew Cushin and Liam Fender and the full line-up made for a fantastic day.

"We can't wait to see everybody today for the legend that is Ian Brown and yet another day of incredible music in Bingley. Day three here we come."

Andrew Cushin, who played the main stage, yesterday, said:"It was amazing [playing at Bingley]. It was really nice to see some familiar faces who I've played for in the past who have been coming to my gigs. I spotted a few of them in the crowd. Hopefully I've made a couple of new fans as well.

"It felt like we cracked something on stage today. I feel like I'm beginning to zone into being that frontman.

"To my Yorkshire fans, I love you all and thank you for coming to my shows. But stop wasting your time on Leeds United and support Newcastle!"

"Happy Mondays have stood the test of time because we were such an important part of musical history. We were part of a musical moment, a historical moment with the likes of Hacienda and Back to Basics."
