ANTI-social quad and off-road bike use has got so bad on a recreation ground that extra security fencing will be installed.

The playing fields at Harrogate Road in Eccleshill has also recently suffered from fly-tipping and have been used as a makeshift traveller camp in recent years.

Bradford Council has now revealed that it plans to install a fence to the south of the site to prevent repeated instances of anti social behaviour.

The council submitted an application to prune trees in this area of the fields to allow the fence to be installed.

Those tree works have now been approved, with the security measures due to be installed later this year.

A spokesman for the Council said: “The proposed fence will allow the site and playing fields to be better secured and defended against breaches from quad, motor and off road bikes and prevent any future fly tipping.

“The tree works will be undertaken later this year and then the fence can be installed.”

The fence will run from the existing fence at the end of Roundwood Avenue to the boundary wall on Ravenscliffe Avenue.
