A BRADFORD primary school is undergoing building work over the summer break.

Scaffolding has been put up around Russell Hall Primary School, on West End, Queensbury.

A Bradford Council spokesperson said the roof is being replaced.

The school has experienced issues with the roof in recent months.

Back in June, a statement on Bradford Council's emergency closure alert website said: "Due to damage to the roof over the weekend school will be closed to all children until we can verify that the site is safe.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but the safety of the children and staff is our main priority."

The school opened later in the day.

Speaking about the work, a Council spokesperson said: “The works being undertaken at Russell Hall Primary School is the provision of a new roof to the school building.

"This work has been planned and programmed for some time and was always intended to start in summer 2023.”
