MEMBERS of staff at Bradford’s Broadway House Chambers are aiming to raise £1,200 for the mental health charity Mind by completing 2 Million Steps in August.
Twelve employees are taking part in the fundraiser after learning that one in four people experience mental health problems at some stage in their lives.
Wellbeing Officer and Clerk, David Richardson, said: “My colleagues and I have embarked on this challenge with a dual purpose; to enhance our own mental health and to extend support to this remarkable charity.
“Leeds Mind plays a vital role in aiding the individuals of Leeds and its neighbouring regions in their journey towards mental well-being, one step at a time.”
Promotion and Marketing Manager, Leah Taylor, added: “This is certainly going to be a challenge due to us all having a desk-based role. However, with support from our friends, colleagues and the legal community it will certainly spur us on to get those steps in for an incredible cause.”
Mind has disclosed that the current cost-of-living crisis, coupled with those having to adjust to life after the pandemic, means that more and more people are struggling with their mental health every day. Issues include depression, anxiety, isolation, stress, self-harm, personality disorder and bereavement.
