Police are appealing for a driver to come forward who may have witnessed or have information about a collision between a cyclist and another car

Western Area Roads Policing officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the serious collision between a car and a cyclist on Caroline Street, Saltaire. It happened at around 6.49pm on Monday, July 10.

Police said they would particularly like to speak to the driver of a black Peugeot 206/207.

At around 6.45pm, the car was travelling in the opposite direction to the cyclist and police believe the driver may have witnessed the rider coming towards them.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The collision itself took place near the junction of Exhibition Road after the bicycle collided with the door of a white Dacia Duster car.

"The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

"The Dacia driver remained at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.

"The police cordon stretched across Caroline Street, close to its junction with Exhibition Road, and the other end was beyond it, heading away from Saltaire towards Baker Street."

Anyone with information, or dashcam footage, is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit by using 101 Live Chat online or by calling 101, quoting log 1552 of July 10.
