POLICE have released a picture of a bike that was used in a shooting - as it emerged that a man is fighting for his life in hospital.

West Yorkshire Police has revealed this afternoon that a man injured after a firearms discharge in Farleton Drive, Fagley on July 7 is currently in a critical condition in hospital.

Two men were injured in the shooting and rushed to hospital.

It was originally reported that one of the men suffered serious injuries, but the force has revealed that he is battling to stay alive.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "One of the men remains in hospital in a critical condition, the other has since been released from hospital."

The force has also issued an appeal for information about a motorbike that was used in the shooting and found dumped in the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, just off Dockfield Road, in Shipley on Saturday.

The appeal includes an image of the bike, with two masked individuals riding it.

The Homicide and Majory Enquiry Team (HMET) would like to speak to anyone who saw the motorbike in the Bradford area from July 7 to July 15 - the day it was found dumped.

A third update from detectives is that a 37-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in police custody.

Two men, Nathan Scott, 32, of Sandholme Drive, Thorpe Edge, Bradford, and Tommy Lupton, 20, of no fixed address, were charged with attempted murder and remanded into custody to next appear at Bradford Crown Court on August 14.

Three other males - aged 29, 24, and 34 - who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released under investigation.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Guy Shackleton, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who is leading the investigation, said: "Extensive enquiries are being carried out by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team into what was an extremely serious incident which has left a man critically ill in hospital.

“Today we have released an image of the bike that was used in the shooting and are appealing for anyone who saw this bike or has information about who was on it to come forward.

“We are building up a picture of the bike's movements from 7 July to 15 July where it was then found dumped in the Canal in Shipley.

“Anyone who has any CCTV footage or dash cam of the bike in the Bradford area is asked to come forward and help the investigation.”

Anyone who has any information, or footage, which could assist enquiries is asked to contact the HMET on 101 or using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
