A WOMAN has been fined after she was caught travelling without a valid rail ticket.
Bhulwindet Kaur, 35 of Western Road, Southall, was travelling between Southall and Bradford Interchange on January 25, 2023.
The court record states she boarded the train without having paid the fare. She said she believed she could travel to Bradford Interchange on an Oyster card.
She was unable to produce a ticket at Bradford Interchange.
Court documents state: "Following the incident, a letter was sent to the defendant requesting the fare only, as there was no response a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent, this remains unpaid."
At Kirklees Magistrates' Court on June 30, Kaur was fined £220, asked to pay compensation of £151, a surcharge to fund victim services of £88 and costs of £150.
In total, she must pay £609 before July 28.
