A new maternity circle is hoped to boost support for Bradford women in different stages of motherhood.

The Family Action Perinatal Support Service has received £20,000 from Community Partnership 5 (CP5).

Parents from Bowling and Barkerend as well as Bradford Moor will now be able to reach out for health advice and wellbeing support.

It is open to pregnant mums and mums with children up to the age of two.

The Circle will be a weekly drop-in session weekly, where mums can speak to different services within the maternity system.

Katie James, service manager at the Family Action Perinatal Support Service, said: “The Circle will be warm and welcoming and provide information and support for all things maternity.

“This will include health advice, wellbeing support, and everything needed to ensure they have the best possible maternity experience, and their babies have the best possible start in life.”

Abbas Bashir, chair of CP5, said: “We hope the funding will go some way towards responding to local needs and addressing the health inequalities.”

The Maternity Circle meets between 9.30 -11.30am every Tuesday morning at The Vine Centre.
