A BRADFORD district-based energy champion has won a prestigious national award.
Ian Allan, head of Market Strategy for Saltaire’s Switch2 Energy, has been named ‘Champion’ in a prestigious national energy awards scheme.
The award from the UK District Energy Association celebrates the stars who are transforming the heat network industry – to drive the future of net zero.
Mr Allan has advised the Government on making energy costs fairer for heat network customers, including the new Energy Bill Discount Scheme.
His expert advice is in demand across the industry, including helping to develop the national technical standard of excellence for heat networks; working with academia to transform the future of zero carbon heating, and shaping key government policies.
Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Mr Allan has led the design and development of innovative digital technologies, such as Switch2's award-winning smart metering systems and connected heat interface units.
