A MAN has been banned from driving after he was caught speeding on a major Bradford district road.
Rehan Jahangir Malik, 20, of Norwood Avenue, Shipley, was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court.
He was clocked speeding at 80mph in a 50mph speed restriction on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, also known as the Bingley Bypass, on December 28, 2022.
Malik was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months for the offence. His disqualification was deemed obligatory due to repeat offending, court documents said.
He was also fined £330 and ordered to pay a £132 victim surcharge and £110 costs for the charge. A collection order was made by the court at the sentencing hearing.
There was no separate penalty for a further charge of driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road/in a public place without due care and attention. This offence also took place on Sir Fred Hoyle Way, Bingley, on December 28.
The charges against Malik were proven at a single justice procedure hearing held on March 10.
He was sentenced on June 29.
