A PROTEST has taken place today amid a drag queen storytelling event at a library.
North Yorkshire Police attended outside Skipton library just before 1pm when storyteller Aida H Dee was present to read as part of a series of events in town to mark Skipton Pride.
The Drag Queen Story Hour UK event had been organised through Skipton Town Hall and North Yorkshire Council.
Police said they were present to ensure the protest, which was being carried out legally, was peaceful and without aggression.
Around 20 protestors with placards were in attendance. Some were giving out leaflets.
