PEOPLE on a residential street were left shocked after witnessing an assault outside their homes. 

According to onlookers, two cars, an Audi and Porshe, parked up on Lee Lane, Cottingley, before a fight broke out between the two groups of people.

Police were called to the scene at 5.46 pm, last Friday (June 30) to reports of an assault and criminal damage to a vehicle.

One resident, said: “They had iron bars and baseball bats.

“It was a proper fight. Everybody was watching, older people and young children - you don’t expect something like on a quiet country lane.

“We reported it to the police but we were really shocked.

“It’s not good for young people to witness things like this.”

West Yorkshire Police is investigating the incident. The force has urged anyone who may have witnessed it  to come forward.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police, said: ”Police are investigating reports of an assault and criminal damage of a vehicle on Lee Lane, Wilsden, on June 30.

"Officers were called at around 5.46pm to reports two men assaulted two other men in the street. Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford CID.

“Police are treating this as an isolated incident.”
