A POPULAR reviewer has tried the “cheapest kebab around” and it comes from Bradford.

Danny Malin – who is the face of Rate My Takeaway on YouTube – tested out Kebab Corner, which is located within Oastler Shopping Centre, in John Street for his latest video.

The takeaway has already been visited by HEYMAN Food Reviews – who has almost 55,000 subscribers on the video-sharing platform – and he dubbed it a “hidden gem” in February last year.

Malin was equally impressed with Kebab Corner in a video he titled “Trying the cheapest kebab around”, which had more than 60,000 views at the time of writing.

The YouTuber – who has 623,000 subscribers – ordered a donner meat with chips, accompanied by a can of Tango, and a masala fish with chips.

He also asked for “the all sauce mixaroo” on the kebab meat and the “mint and chilli” on the fish.

It all came to £10.75 in total - £5 for the kebab meat and chips with a drink - to which Malin exclaimed “bargain”

Right at the start of the video, a buggie passes Malin in his Rate My Takeaway van before the reviewer said: “This place, Kebab Corner, is known to be the home of one of the best kebabs apparently that you’re ever going to have.”

He added: “The best thing about is, apparently it costs next to nothing, peanuts. So let’s go.”

Malin revealed he has been messaged continuously about trying out Kebab Corner while he is going around the country reviewing other food places.

He said: “Apparently a lot of people go in here, buy this kebab, it’s absolutely amazing, so I’m going to go try it out cameraman, I want to see what it’s all about.

“Is it cheap enough, is it going to be tasty enough, or is it just a myth.”

Malin forwent the seating inside and set up his famous foldable table and chairs on the pathway outside the Oastler Market, as the sun beamed down.

This attracted a few funny looks from members of the public but there were the usual fans who popped into sight of the camera for a chat with Malin.

As soon as the fish masala and chips arrived, Malin said: “Look at this. Wow, that’s a piece of fish that mate, init?”

Then when the donner meat and chips came a few moments later he said: “Look at that, that is just a mountain.”

Malin tried the chips – with the mint and chilli sauce on - first before moving onto the masala fish.

He said: “Nice crispy chips. That sauce has got a nice spicy chilli in that as well, wo-ho, wow, it has, it’s got a really, really nice flavour.

“Right let’s get in with this fish, let’s break it up, see what’s happening.

“Are we ready, boosh, look at this, oh look at that.

“See you’ve got like a masala batter – oh my, guys, oh my God, the flavour in that is amazing.

“Then you’ve got, look at that, nice bits of white fish.”

The reviewer then moved onto the star of the show – the donner meat and chips.

He said: “You’ve got a lot of donner meat there.

“And I’ve been in there and people have got the same sized portion.

“It’s sliced off nice and thin, you’ve got your salad to go on the side.

“Tell you somet, if they do a naan bread for a quid, that is bang on.”

He added: “For me guys, it’s one of the best value meals that I’ve had from a takeaway.

“It’s got quality, it’s fresh salad, quality tasting.”

Malin rated the meal a 10 out of 10.

The popular YouTuber travels the UK trying to find the best and worst takeaways.

Over the years, he has visited venues across the Bradford district and the areas surrounding it.

Most recently he tested out Pizza Pieces, in Market Street and rated it the “best” in the UK.

Great Horton Road's Wing Heist, Lala's in Pudsey, the Sweet Centre Restaurant on Lumb Lane, Phatboyz in Thornton, and Moons on Leeds Road have all been put under the watchful eye of the man behind RateMyTakeaway as well.
