THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after police stopped a car involved in a high-speed chase in Bradford yesterday (Wednesday).

A spokesperson for the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "In the early hours of Wednesday, June 14, officers from Bradford South Response Team 1 had a vehicle fail to stop for them on Boltby Lane (in Buttershaw).

"Officers have engaged in a high-speed pursuit with the vehicle where the driver decamped and ran into a nearby address."

Later, officers located a samurai sword, other weapons and what police described as a "very large quantity of class A and class B drugs."

Meanwhile, a male has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop for police, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a private dwelling.

Officers then attended a linked address in Bradford city centre and arrested a male on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, domestic assault and criminal damage.

A female was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. All parties are still in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
