POLICE chased two stolen motorbikes and managed to seize them after one rider ran out of fuel and the other fell off.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were on patrol in the Tong ward of Bradford and posted about the two pursuits yesterday evening.
The chases were separate.
Police recovered the first bike from Wansford Close, in Holme Wood after the rider made off from police and a chase began.
But the rider ran out of fuel and got away from officers on foot.
Checks showed the blue motorbike had been stolen from the Sutton area earlier that day.
A spokesperson for Bradford South NPT said: "The rider got away on foot but will be visited by us soon as we know where he lives.
"The bike will be returned to its grateful owner once forensics have been completed."
Officers managed to secure an arrest after the second chase they were involved in that evening.
Police tried to pull over a red motorbike in the Bradford South area but the rider failed to stop.
The pursuit came to an end when the "poor lad" on the back of the vehicle fell off.
Officers seized the bike in Wyke, as it is suspected to have been stolen.
The rider was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
They remain in custody at this time and officers are continuing to investigate the case.
The Bradford South NPT said: "The poor lad is not badly hurt but his pride has taken a beating along with a bruised leg."
