CREWS from across Bradford have been called to help fight a wildfire raging on Marsden Moor.

Firefighters from at least 15 fire stations in West Yorkshire have called to the wildfire at Binn Lane, Marsden, to help battle the fire which started at 5.36pm today (Friday).

Initial reports had the fire measuring 200 square metres, but it is reportedly spreading quickly.

Pilots flying into Leeds-Bradford Airport reported seeing the flames from the skies.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We are in attendance at a wildfire on Marsden Moor currently measuring 200 square meters, but increasing quickly.

"We received a number of calls this afternoon to the site at Binn Lane, near Butterley Reservoir in Marsden.

"Four wildfire units are at the scene along with the drone. The all-terrain Argocat is in attendance and the Polaris is on its way to the site.

Firefighters are using blowers, beaters and hoses to help extinguish the flames.”
