A two day music festival is set to bring some of Bradford’s best talent onto the same stage this summer.

QM Records’ MOVES Festival will take place across July 28 and July 29 at Kala Sangam Arts Centre.

The line-up includes Lunar C, Blazer Boccle, Red Shakes, Haze Da Martian (Sofu Gang), Musumba, Kenzo Jae, Sisi and much more.

Music lovers can purchase tickets for individual days or both days.

Lunar C, who has worked on some UK’s hottest tunes and artists, will bring his epic rap battle reputation to the stage while Blazer Boccle will perform his own special blend of hip-hop, RnB, and bassline.

Known more as Red Shakes, Sam Carvalho Da Silva has used his experiences in Paris and Bradford to create his sixties pop inspired indie rock.

Meanwhile festival goers can expect trippy flows from recently-signed Haze Da Martian, contemporary R&B rhythms from Musumba, and chill ethereal rap from Kenzo Jae.

‘One to watch’ Loz Campbell will cater for the rock lovers while KG offers some heat with his “wavy rap”.

The talented Sisi will mix it up with her Afropop and Garage inspired songs and electronic duo  Perp & Linfomation get ready to drum up some funky synth surprises.

Festival organiser Ned Archibong said: “Come down, enjoy yourself, you’re going to discover some artists, you’re going to have a great time.

“The same day it’s part of BD Festival. All day there’ll be stuff to do.

“It’s a celebration of music and predominately the artists who will be playing are from Bradford.”

The festival has been hosted in Brighton for the past five years - making 2023 the first year MOVES comes up North.

Ned said the festival will create job opportunities in the cultural industry for people living in the district.

“Growing up in Bradford I had some great experiences of seeing events,” the musician, who is part of soulful hip-hop group Normanton Street, said.

“Doing this festival in Brighton since 2018 there’s always a thing in my brain to bring this to Bradford.

“Growing up I was always into music and it seemed like the right thing to do with the City of Culture coming up. I’ve been making some really good contacts in Bradford.

“Hopefully it will be a good platform for artists to be on the stage but bring visitors to Bradford as it grows.”
