OFFICERS had a busy day in the Tong ward  of Bradford today where three arrests were made and a number of stolen bikes recovered.

Officers arrested a male on Fairfax Avenue, Bierley who kicked a police officer riding a marked police bike. He was arrested for assaulting an officer and for driving without a license or insurance. He was charged and released from police custody.

Officers then attended an address on Wansford Close where they found three stolen motorbikes and a car with Class A drugs and Class B drugs inside. Officers took pictures of the cars and bikes.

They then attended Hyne Avenue, Bierley and arrested two males who were wanted for a burglary and public order offence. These males are still in our cells being interviewed and processed.

Leader of the Green Party Group and Tong Ward Councillor, said: "Anti-social behaviour and drug dealing are one of the biggest concerns residents tell me they want to see action on in South Bradford.

"The Tong Ward Neighborhood Policing Team are doing some great work to tackle these issues right across the area and these arrests are the latest in what has been a very busy few weeks for them.

"They rely on information from residents. If anyone has information I'd encourage them to report it to the police on 101 or you can do it completely anonymously to Crimestoppers"
