A LONG-RUNNING Bradford beer festival which normally attracts around a thousand people will be held next month.

The Hepworth and Idle Beer Festival will take place from Friday, June 23, to Sunday, June 25, at Hepworth and Idle Cricket Club on Westfield Lane, Idle.

Dave Matthews, chairman of the cricket club, said: "This will be our 21st year. It would be our 23rd but we had to miss two years because of Covid. Last year was our first one back after two years.

"We usually get up to a thousand people over the three days."

The festival opens at 7pm and runs until 11pm on Friday (June 23), from 1pm to 11pm on Saturday (June 24) and from 1pm to 7pm on Sunday (June 25).

Over 30 real ales will be on offer and there will be a gin and rum bar.

Food will be available and there will be live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings.

There will be a live cricket on all three days - a junior cricket match on Friday, a senior match on Saturday and a charity match on Sunday.

Entry costs £4 and includes a commemorative glass.

The club is also seeking sponsors for 15 remaining barrels of beer.
