BRADFORD Science Festival kicked off this week with some interactive workshops for local schoolchildren and a number of out-of-this-world experiences are planned for the public until June 4 at the National Science and Media Museum.
A spokesperson for Bradford Science Festival said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors over the May half term for even more surprising science and fascinating fun with dance workshops, live science shows, giant puppets and more."
Every day, people can dance through the galaxies with an out-of-this-world experience created by choreographer Corey Baker.
Visitors can also make a periscope, see things close up in a microscope demonstration and explore the illuminating world of light in a science show.
Some activities planned for the big Big Family Weekend on June 3 and 4 include:
* Future Transformation will unveil the secrets of space travel while recreating the Orion spacecraft used by NASA.
* Global Grooves and their giant puppets will give live drumming performances.
* Learn about microscopic, intergalactic and archaeological hidden worlds with researchers from the University of Bradford.
* Join Space Art and use an AI image creator to type your own messages that AI can transform into a piece of visual art.
* Learn about an 11th-century Arabian scientist in a short film by 1001 Inventions.
* Liberty Arts will present a story about the pioneering life of an African American ophthalmologist.
On June 3, Flux Dance will present a movement workshop.
On June 4, there will be a BSL-integrated performance by dancer Chris Fonseca and rapper Harry Jardine.
