A BRADFORD restaurant that once served The Queen is to offer a discount in celebration of the upcoming coronation.

Mumtaz's Great Horton Road Indian is giving customers 15 per cent off until Sunday, May 7.

A spokesperson from the restaurant said: "In celebration of the forthcoming coronation of their majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, we are happy to offer a 15 per cent discount for all takeaways and dine-in customers."

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The restaurant served both Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh upon their visit to Bradford in 2007.

At the time, Mumtaz was sent a letter from The Queen's Assistant Private Secretary, Edward Young.

It read: "The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have asked me to write to thank you and your staff for organising a delightful lunch.

"Her Majesty and His Royal Highness know how much time and effort go into organising an event such as this and have asked that their thanks be passed to everyone who had a part to play in making it such a memorable occasion.

"The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have also asked that their thanks be passed to you for the gifts of a Mumtaz handbag and hamper.

"They are most grateful to you for this kind and thoughtful gesture."
