People in Bradford are being challenged to walk, cycle or run 100 miles as part of a charity campaign for cancer.

Yorkshire Cancer Research has a leader board of all those who ‘Step Out for Yorkshire’ this May.

The annual fundraiser hopes to raise awareness of the link between exercise and cancer, invite people to get more active, while raising vital funds.

Every year, 30,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire - and around 3,000 of these people are diagnosed in Bradford.

Dr Kathryn Scott, Chief Executive at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “Exercise plays an important role in both lowering the risk of developing cancer and in cancer treatment and recovery. That's why we're inviting people across the region to get outside and get moving.”
