IT IS time to showcase the top 10 Chinese restaurants and takeaways in Bradford currently, according to Tripadvisor reviews.

The Telegraph & Argus revealed the best Italian restaurants in the city and surrounding areas and the top curryhouses in February.

We’re continuing the series and up next is all things fried rice, noodles and prawn crackers.

Restaurants have an average rating out of 5, based its individual reviews, and then Tripadvisor ranks establishments with its popularity index.

This takes into account the number of reviews, how favourable they are and how old or recent they are.

For example, a restaurant may have a strong average rating but this may be made up of much older reviews and its more recent judgements could be unfavourable which would impact its popularity index rating, and so its ranking compared to other food businesses.

Tripadvisor’s popularity index is updated every week, according to the review website.

Taking the top spot in Bradford is The Imperial, in Saltaire Road, Shipley, with an average rating of 4.5 and 354 of its 498 reviews rating it as “Excellent” (71 per cent).

One reviewer took their daughter for their 21st birthday.

They said: “We went here for my daughter’s 21st.

“The hospitality was second to none and the food was very good.”

The next two Chinese eateries in the list are China Thai Fever, in Saltaire Road, Shipley and Oodles Bradford, in Leeds Road.

Second-spot China Thai Fever has an average rating of 3.5, with 135 Excellent reviews out of a total of 322 (42 per cent).

One reviewer said the food was “very tasty” and “well presented” at a “premier establishment”.

They added: “Huge five stars also goes to the young ladies on front of house who were very articulate in their approach throughout.

“You are guaranteed to get more than a China Fever from this establishment.”

Oodles, in third spot, has an average rating of 5 stars, with all its ratings Excellent so far (13 in total).

One reviewer came all the way from Sunderland because “it’s that peng”.

They added: “Customer service was on point and very friendly staff.

“Got served really quick.”

The Chinese takeaway in fourth is Hong Kong, in Allerton Road, with an average rating of 4.5.

One reviewer said: “Regularly use this Chinese takeaway.

“Excellent value and normally by the time I have placed the phone order and drove down to collect it is ready.”

Rounding out the top five is The Mild Seven, in Bradford Road, which has an average rating of 4, with 14 Excellent reviews out of 27 (52 per cent).

One reviewer said: “The shop is basic but what the hell, Pete has the best beef in black bean sauce.

“I've tried others in the area and unfortunately in my opinion none can touch theirs - I have gone there for years and never had a bad one.”

Sixth spot goes to Jades, in Thornton Road, with an average rating of 3.5 and eight Excellent reviews out of 18 (44 per cent), followed by Golden City, in Highgate Road, Queensbury, with an average rating of 3.5 and nine Excellent reviews out of 18 (50 per cent) and then The Magic Wok, in Torre Road, with an average rating of 4.5 and nine Excellent review out of 10 (90 per cent).

Wilsden House, in Main Street, Wilsden is ninth, with an average rating of 4.5 rating and nine Excellent reviews out of 12 (75 per cent) and then Golden Gate, in Ruswarp Crescent is tenth, with an average rating of 4.5.
