Train services across West Yorkshire are affected this morning as emergency services deal with an incident.

Northern confirmed the incident has taken place near Sowerby Bridge.

All lines were blocked in both direction by the height of rush hour on Friday (March 31).

The railways have now reopened but trains running through these stations may be still cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes whilst services return to normal.

Services were initially delayed or cancelled, a spokesperson for Northern said, while alternative transport cover was requested.

A spokesperson for Northern said: "Customers can use services between Braford Forester Square and Leeds. Ticket restrictions have been lifted during disruption.

"Ticket acceptance in place with Cross Country and LNER between Leeds and Newcastle. Ticket acceptance in place with TPE on any reasonable route."
