A CELEBRATION is taking place shortly to mark the end of Lord Mayor Martin Love’s civic year and his appeal.

The charity dinner event is being held at the Midland Hotel in Bradford on Saturday, May 20.

It will involve a casino, auction and raffle plus live music from The Funk Lockers and Bradford & Airedale Youth Choir.

There will also be a three-course meal, with tickets for the event costing £45.

Funds raised will benefit this year’s Lord Mayor’s Appeal which for the 2022-23 civic year is Bradford Hospitals’ Charity BIG Neonatal Appeal.

The appeal is raising money to enhance and extend accommodation for parents to stay close to their babies while they are in hospital.

The neonatal unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary cares for around 500 premature and sick babies each year, from all over the region.

The Lord Mayor said he chose the charity because its work has a big impact on many families across the district and he wanted to support them in their efforts to raise £3 million.
