A BRADFORD district-born wrestler will take part in one of the sport’s biggest matches of the year.
Luke Menzies, who stars in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as Ridge Holland, is one of 28 men announced to compete in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The match where all of the wrestlers will be in the ring at the same time, will take place on WWE Friday Night Smackdown TV show on March 31, the night before the first of two successive evenings of the WrestleMania 39 event.

The rules of the battle royal state that a wrestler is eliminated from the match when they are thrown over the top rope and both of their feet hit the floor. The match continues until one man is crowned the winner of the trophy.
The battle royal is held on the eve of each annual WrestleMania and is in honour of Andre The Giant, the 7ft 4ins tall French star who fought Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3 in 1987. Andre died in 1993.
Liversedge-born Menzies, a former Spen Valley Sports College student, is one of the rising stars of the WWE, appearing on their weekly Friday Night Smackdown TV show, where he is teaming up with Sheamus and Butch as the trio known as The Brawling Brutes.
