THE cause of the fire which raged through a warehouse is currently unknown, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has said.

Fire crews from across West Yorkshire were scrambled to the scene in Wormald Street, in Millbridge, between Heckmondwike and Liversedge at around 7pm on Tuesday, March 14.

At the height of the fire 12 fire appliances and three aerial ladder platforms were in attendance and locals were advised to keep their doors and windows shut.

Crews remained at the scene yesterday morning using an aerial appliance and a ground monitor to control the fire.

Crews started damping down just after 9am.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue told the Telegraph & Argus today (March 16) that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
