Coronation Street’s Steven Arnold - who played Ashley Peacock in the popular soap - is set to star in a new comedy show about six actors trying to perform different Shakespeare plays at the same time.

The Northern Comedy Theatre is bringing ‘Doing Shakespeare’ to The Bradford Playhouse on April 19.

David Spicer’s farcical production follows six actors who meet up to do Shakespeare the way the playwright himself would have done: learning their parts separately and meeting on the day of the performance.

In a huge breakdown in communication, each actor discovers they have learnt a different play. Determined to let the show go on, the group convince themselves that the audience won’t notice.

The show received rave reviews after a stint at London’s Bridewell Theatre as well as a nomination for Off West End’s Best Costume Design at the Offies 2022.

The cast includes Steven Arnold, Elliot Bailey, Kathryn Chambers, Vikki Earle, Farron Ronan, Robert Stuart-Hudson.
