A BRADFORD dog owner has claimed a coveted prize after her miniature poodle wowed the judges at Crufts dog show.
Liz Holmes-Loak and her dog Lewis won the Best in Breed prize at the NEC in Birmingham, and qualified for the Best in Group showpiece on the famous green carpet.
Organised by The Kennel Club, Crufts – which took place between March 9 and March 12 – celebrates every aspect of the roles dogs play in people's lives.
Liz and Lewis were unable to go all the way, however, as Orca, a Lagotto Romagnolo from Croatia, clinched the overall Best in Show crown on Sunday night.
Owners Javier Gonzalez Mendikote and Ante Lucin had travelled 25 hours across Europe in order to compete.
Javier said: “It was always a dream, and today it has come true,” while Lucin added: “It’s amazing and you can’t ask for more.”
