Today, approximately 50 schools in Bradford were closed as a result of a teachers' strike. Teachers chose to protest their pay for the second time in February, and some of them joined rallies in Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle.

 

According to the National Education Union, 200,000 of its members are prepared to “walk off the job” this week as they put more pressure on the government to make them a wage offer, that will enable them to better manage the rising cost of living.
