A BRADFORD-born TV presenter will release her debut novel later this year.

Anita Rani, best known as a BBC One Countryfile and Radio 4 Woman’s Hour presenter, says she is due to bring out her first novel this summer, but no further details have been revealed about the book.

In a video on her Instagram account, filmed inside a London hotel room where she is completing her book, Anita said: “I’ve been finishing off final edits of my first-ever novel.

“I cannot wait to release my baby to the world this summer.”

The debut novel will be the second book from Anita. In July 2021 she published her childhood memoir ‘The Right Sort of Girl’.

She will return to her home city next month when she is officially appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Bradford at a ceremony.

She hailed the city as she took time out from her busy schedule to meet with students and staff during the day-long visit in January.

During her visit, Anita visited various locations on campus, met with and chatted to students and staff. The TV and radio host also took part in a question-and-answer session filmed by students in the University’s TV studio.
