A SPORTS court has received a £30,000 investment for new lighting to be installed as part of a project to revamp parks across the district.
Work started on the sports court behind the Ravenscliffe Youth Community Centre, earlier this week and will be completed within two to three weeks.
The work will include the installation of new lighting columns and LED lights which will be controlled from the adjacent Community Centre building.

Planning was approved in November last year with permitted hours of use being 8:00-21:00hrs Monday to Sunday.
The work is being funded through the JU:MP (Join Us:Move Play) as one of many delivery pilots in the Bradford district.
Councillor Chris Hayden said “I am really excited about this new installation, on the back of the previous investment into the play facilities within the park alongside this games area late last year.
"I want to particularly praise Nicky Lannen who has campaigned for this improvement on behalf of the young people of Ravenscliffe for a long time. Bradford Youth Services have committed to controlling these lights and they ensured the project got off the ground.
"This exciting addition to Ravenscliffe would not have been possible without JU:MP who continue to support local residents by delivering projects at the heart of our communities.
"Something I have heard time and again is that there is nothing for our children to do, projects like this show that residents voices are heard and I remain fully committed to getting the best for Eccleshill.”
