A BRADFORD community centre has cause for celebration after being awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre, on Huddersfield Road, Odsal, will use its funding over three years to deliver its Vitality Project.

Its aim is to tackle health, social and economic issues affecting people from the local area and beyond.

There will be social groups, activities, sports and support services for all ages and abilities.

The centre is encouraging people to get in touch to see how they can get involved.

Centre manger Arnie Butterfield said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can serve more people by delivering an exciting, necessary project to tackle health, social and economic issues, helping people most marginalised by todays’ society.

"We understand that many people are lonely or need some help during the current cost-of-living crisis, so we want to support and improve the lives of our local community through the many activities, sports and support services the project offers.

"This help and support will make a big difference to people’s well-being, health and fitness.”
