Currently, the national health service face numbers of issues. These include backlog, demand, shortage of staff, underpay and much more.

The worries of the NHS collapsing date back to before the pandemic but after Brexit and corona the situation has worsened. The demand over the years have increased significantly as population has grown causing an overwhelming amount of backlog. Also the pandemic added to this backlog as many suffer from long Covid and the respiratory problems. These unforeseen pandemic has added problems that will require much more funding.  It’s reported that nearly half the staff say underfunding causes them to not do there job properly and this is before they discussed there salary.

As many struggle with the living costs it’s resulted in striking which further reduces the work force. We spoke to a nurse who works in bradford royal infirmary who told us: "We work long hours and barely get breaks due to the shortage of staff “. This shortage has caused long wait in the a&e. A mother of two Mrs Khan said: “I took my son at 1am as his temperature was really high and had to wait for 5 hours to get seen which was extremely stressful as I had a four year old at home”. Many had also said that they were sent home and expected to return in morning if they couldn’t wait.
